Shelly Garvey once had dreams like anyone else, but life broke her early. Trapped in cycles of addiction, toxic love, and survival-mode decisions, she became the kind of woman who let deadbeat men move in while her kids went hungry. She hustled what she could, sold what wasn’t nailed down, and numbed herself with drugs when it all got too real.

She never got clean. Never found redemption.

Her love for Jack was real in its own warped way, but it was buried beneath her cravings for validation and love, substances, for escape. She let men hit her, let them disrespect her children, and never stepped up when Jack needed her most.
